SMOOTH Tech Debuts Precision Motion Expertise at IFA 2026!
2026.09.10

On September 5, the three-day IFA Global Markets 2026 officially kicked off in Berlin, Germany. As a dedicated B2B platform within IFA focused on global sourcing and supply chain connections, the GM hall attracted a large number of international professional buyers. Smooth Technology made its presence felt in the core central area of the GM hall, showcasing its four major product lines—micro drive systems, hinges, slides, and MIM parts—and presenting its integrated capabilities in "R&D, design, and manufacturing" for precision motion mechanisms, with a strong focus on key visitor segments including consumer electronics, smart home, and home appliances.

During the show, Smooth's custom-built booth drew steady crowds. Featuring a combination of physical displays and disassembled samples, the booth attracted numerous professional visitors to stop by and experience hands-on interaction.

At this exhibition, Smooth Technology places its focus on addressing the real-world needs of its core customer base. Targeting the common requirements of consumer electronics and smart home appliances—including silent operation, precise control, slim-profile structures, and consistent mass-production quality—Smooth offers a modular "motion + structure" product portfolio. This enables customers to manage the entire process—from solution design and component selection, through prototype validation, to volume delivery—through a single point of contact, effectively eliminating matching errors and quality fluctuations that often arise from coordinating multiple suppliers.

Three Core Product Lines — Addressing Motion Control Challenges in Smart Terminals

High-Precision Gearbox Modules

Smooth's self-developed gear design and vibration/noise reduction technologies enable its gearbox products to deliver low noise, high reliability, and stable performance, making them suitable for applications across smart cockpits, smart homes, and consumer electronics. The company also supports multi-specification, multi-material product selection and customized transmission design, equipped with reverse engineering capabilities, modular solution offerings, and full-process services—from prototype validation to volume delivery.

Precision Hinges and Slider

Smooth's technological strength in foldable hinge systems is particularly noteworthy. The core hinge module for the domestically produced 28-inch tri-fold flexible display—which previously drew significant industry attention—was developed and manufactured by Smooth. Comprising over 500 precision-assembled components, the module withstands more than 300,000 folding cycles with smooth, silent operation. While designed for large-format foldable displays, it is also scalable to foldable smartphones, laptops, and headphone products. Meanwhile, Smooth's slider products have been widely adopted in smart locks, projectors, e-cigarettes, gaming consoles, and other devices, delivering smooth, quiet, and reliable performance under high-frequency reciprocating use.

Precision MIM Components

Metal Injection Molding (MIM) technology offers high design flexibility and excellent consistency in volume production, enabling the integration of traditionally multi-part structures into a single molded component. It delivers significant advantages in high-volume manufacturing and reliable performance under demanding conditions, effectively enhancing the environmental adaptability and service life of end products while providing stable, scalable support for industry clients' mass production needs.

During business negotiations, Smooth's vertically integrated "from R&D to mass production" model drew significant attention from visitors. Founded in Shenzhen in 2009, the company operates across six key sectors: smart cockpits, smart homes, consumer electronics, AI robotics, smart healthcare, and industrial automation. Smooth maintains a smart manufacturing base of over 30,000 square meters in Dongguan and other locations, equipped with more than 1,000 production machines. Key processes—including stamping, injection molding, MIM sintering, and module assembly—are fully controlled in-house. The company holds ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, and QC080000 international certifications, with products and services reaching over 30 countries and regions worldwide.
